On Tuesday we slept in late at the Deadwood Mountain Grand, the converted Gold Mine Slime Plant, here are some photos of the hotel and casino.
After breakfast we checked out the Visitors Center in the restored train station and then took the Original Deadwood Tour, which is now owned by Kevin Costner. Randy our driver and guide gave a humorous history of Deadwood that ended at the Cemetery where Will Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, and Potato Creek Johnny are buried.
After the tour we drove to Sturgis, where we shopped at the quilt store and had lunch at the Loud American Roadhouse. We drove back to Deadwood, where we toured the Adams Museum which has a wonderful collection of artifacts explaining the history of Deadwood.
We had a buffet diner at the Silverado, followed by a drink at the Saloon number 10, which was the name of the saloon where Jack McCall shot Buffalo Bill in the back. While we had our drink, there was a reenactment of the event. Then off to bed for a restful sleep.

What great places to see! Did you run into Richard Dreyfus sculpting the Devils Tower out of his mashed potatoes? Or have any close encounters? The #10 Saloon was investigated by Ghost Lab. Pretty interesting EVPs were captured: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpOnH_TaO4k What an awesome place to visit!
